While the rest of the Miami audience was enjoying the sights and sounds at B-Live Miami 2008, we were busy working behind the scenes. But all work and no play makes Thirdeye a dull crew. So we made sure to play.
Highlights included seeing our graphics displayed in front of hundreds of concert-goers, great live music, delicious food, and a job well done by all. Our favorite performance of the night: Groove Armada.
Now that we’re at the post-production stage of the project, we get to hear all the great music over and over again. So if you happen to pass by our office, don’t be surprised if you see a lot of heads bobbing and toes tapping. Enjoy the (music free) slideshow above.
Yesterday the Thirdeye crew had the honor of seeing our work on display at the Freedom Tower for the AIGA Xposed 2008 exhibition. Our website and dvd package won gold awards. We took photos of the event for your viewing pleasure, so enjoy the slideshow above!
Today is an important day because it is the premiere of the film The First Saturday In May by our friends the Hennegan Brothers. The film has already received rave reviews and numerous awards in the film festival circuit. For a list of premiering cities, please visit the film’s website. Also note that the filmmakers will donate 25% of the first week’s box office earnings to equine research.
Thirdeye is proud to be a part of this project. In honor of the premiere, we have made the film’s opening graphics available in our Motion section.
Now go grab a ticket and some popcorn. You’re in for a treat.
The Latest HOWInternational Design Annual came out this week and guess who made it into the Self-Promotional Websites category! We’re very honored. Make sure to pick up a copy and flip to page 189 for the site credits and pics.
Recently we managed to adopt a set of timbales here at the office. And yes, it comes with a cowbell. The set actually belongs to Manny, but I have a feeling they’ll remain in our office for a long time. One thing I never realized about timbales is their natural loudness. It is impossible to play those drums moderately low. Whenever clients visit, they feel inclined to bang away for a few moments. I happen to be sitting within 10 feet of said drums, so I get to “experience” the music more than anyone.
So if you’re thinking of purchasing a set of timbales for someone you love dearly, consider buying a large case of aspirin for the people who reside within a 2 mile radius. They’ll love you for it.
It’s officially one week into the new year and we’re excited to start fresh. We spent the first few days cleaning and organizing things here at the office. Papers were thrown out, closets were tidied up, files were backed up. It’s going to be a great year. And now behold some pictures of our little Christmas party and gift exchange:
Today we will be doing our annual Secret Santa gift exchange in the afternoon in front of our humble Christmas Tree. Then we’re going to spend the evening together eating delicious food and playing arcade games. We may not get snow here in Florida, but we sure know how to have a good time. Merry Christmas!
Earlier this week, Josh came into the office and announced that some lady had managed to park her car on top of one of the giant rocks in front of our building. Amused and excited, a group of us went outside to check it out. Sure enough, there was her car right on top of a rock. We were amazed that she even managed to get it way up there. Being the good pedestrian journalist that I am, I took photos of the event. Eventually one of her uncles came with a pickup truck and managed to pull her car out of the spot. Enjoy the brief slide show below.
I thought I’d share a few intimate photos of the Thirdeye crew hard at work. You’ll notice most of the shots are with our snazzy new fisheye lens. Wee!
