Bowling and Sushi

Thursday, December 18th, 2008

Everybody!

Last night was Thirdeye’s annual Christmas Party. This time around we went to the brand new Splitsville bowling alley in South Miami. The interior was very fancy and the food was amazing. We had sushi, shrimp, burgers, cookies, and other goodies throughout the night.

Our big group was divided into 2 lanes, so we made a nice competition of the evening. Take a look at the slideshow for moments such as bowling faces and debating scores. A good time was had by all.

Thanks to everyone who came out last night. We’re honored to have you in our professional and personal lives.

Thirdeye Goes to B-Live Miami

Wednesday, May 21st, 2008

While the rest of the Miami audience was enjoying the sights and sounds at B-Live Miami 2008, we were busy working behind the scenes. But all work and no play makes Thirdeye a dull crew. So we made sure to play.

Highlights included seeing our graphics displayed in front of hundreds of concert-goers, great live music, delicious food, and a job well done by all. Our favorite performance of the night: Groove Armada.

Now that we’re at the post-production stage of the project, we get to hear all the great music over and over again. So if you happen to pass by our office, don’t be surprised if you see a lot of heads bobbing and toes tapping. Enjoy the (music free) slideshow above.

The First Saturday In May

Friday, April 18th, 2008

Today is an important day because it is the premiere of the film The First Saturday In May by our friends the Hennegan Brothers. The film has already received rave reviews and numerous awards in the film festival circuit. For a list of premiering cities, please visit the film’s website. Also note that the filmmakers will donate 25% of the first week’s box office earnings to equine research.

Thirdeye is proud to be a part of this project. In honor of the premiere, we have made the film’s opening graphics available in our Motion section.

Now go grab a ticket and some popcorn. You’re in for a treat.

2008 Begins

Monday, January 7th, 2008

It’s officially one week into the new year and we’re excited to start fresh. We spent the first few days cleaning and organizing things here at the office. Papers were thrown out, closets were tidied up, files were backed up. It’s going to be a great year. And now behold some pictures of our little Christmas party and gift exchange:

Today we will be doing our annual Secret Santa gift exchange in the afternoon in front of our humble Christmas Tree. Then we’re going to spend the evening together eating delicious food and playing arcade games. We may not get snow here in Florida, but we sure know how to have a good time. Merry Christmas!

First and foremost, the entire Thirdeye family would like to thank all the folks who came out to the Helvetica screening on Thursday night. We are honored to have shared this great event with you.

And now to address what many of you were asking for… the limited edition Helvetica T-shirts! These silk-screened beauties will catch the eye of any type-lover who crosses your path. Helvetica Comes to Miami

Monday, October 8th, 2007

Attention design and type enthusiasts in Miami: Thirdeye is co-sponsoring the Miami premiere of Gary Hustwit’s award-winning film Helvetica.

Helvetica is a feature-length independent film about typography, graphic design and global visual culture. It looks at the proliferation of one typeface (which will celebrate its 50th birthday in 2007) as part of a larger conversation about the way type affects our lives. The film is an exploration of urban spaces in major cities and the type that inhabits them, and a fluid discussion with renowned designers about their work, the creative process, and the choices and aesthetics behind their use of type.

If you’re interested in attending, click our little Isaac below. Online pre-sale tickets are available through the AIGA Miami website. Heck, while you’re there, consider becoming an AIGA member. It’s the best resource and community for designers.

The entire Thirdeye family will be at this event. So buy your tickets and mark your calendars for October 25th. Isaac has the rest of the details.

Thirdeye Likes Mexican Food

Monday, September 17th, 2007

In celebration of finishing a project, the Thirdeye family decided to go eat some Mexican food at El Rancho Grande on Lincoln Road. The food was delicious (I recommend the Burrito Californiano). Here are a few photos of the crew enjoying an evening out together.

Manny and Maxon

Last week on July 19th, Thirdeye was privileged to represent for the Adobe-MAXON: The Power Integration Tour in Miami. Our very own Manny Gonzalez presented our demo reel and spoke about our integration of Cinema 4D in our work over the years. Manny also detailed how we used Cinema 4D for the following projects: IFL, First Saturday in May, and Celebrity Rides (which can all be seen in our Motion archives). Thank you to Diana Lee & Rick Barrett from Maxon, and Steven Whatley from Adobe for this opportunity!
