Happy New Year!

We know it’s been a while since our last entry, we’ve just been so busy. 2009 gave us many opportunities to work on some exciting projects.

Here are some of our highlights of 2009:

Bacardi WMC

Bacardi asked us to create the show graphics for the 2009 Winter Music Conference Bacardi B-LIVE artist showcase held at the new and improved Fountainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach. We created all the artist intros and bar animations for the event as well as the edits and graphic package for the online presentation.

Bacardi B-LIVE 2009

Once again Bacardi asked us to create the graphic package for their 2009 B-LIVE Tour that traveled all over the US this past summer. We created all of the artist intros and concert graphics as well and edited the concert footage for the online presentation.

Bombay Sapphire

Exploration of Taste
The folks at Bombay Sapphire asked us to post-produce and edit 20 webisodes for their “Exploration of Taste” campaign. Each webisode not only featured a drink recipe but also contained historical information and food pairing tips. We also created the graphics package that included the open, bumps, lower thirds and graphic transitions.

Café Bustelo

Just One Drop
Café Bustelo isn’t just your Mama’s coffee anymore and as part of their intensive marketing campaign, the big guys at Bustelo asked us to produce their very first commercial. Our mission: To capture the essence of one drop of Café Bustelo. Just one drop and your hooked.

In The House

We were asked to create the graphics package for the new Encore show “In The House,” a half-hour news and interview show focused on the entertainment industry providing real insights from industry legends. For the open our crew flew to LA and directed a party scene with hosts Peter Bart, founder and chairman of Mandalay Entertainment, and Peter Guber, former Variety Magazine Editor in Chief. Our challenge was to make sure the package branded all of those involved, including Bacardi, Encore and the Peters.

Last night was Thirdeye’s annual Christmas Party. This time around we went to the brand new Splitsville bowling alley in South Miami. The interior was very fancy and the food was amazing. We had sushi, shrimp, burgers, cookies, and other goodies throughout the night.

Our big group was divided into 2 lanes, so we made a nice competition of the evening. Take a look at the slideshow for moments such as bowling faces and debating scores. A good time was had by all.

Thanks to everyone who came out last night. We’re honored to have you in our professional and personal lives.

I’ll try to stay on top of these holiday related entries from now on.

In fact, according to HolidayInsights.com, today is Have A Bad Day Day. So in attempt to reconcile for our failed attempt at wishing you a wonderful Halloween… I want to wish you and your loved ones a bad day. Cheers!

Two weeks ago, Hurricane Ike was headed directly to us in Miami. Hours before landfall, its directions shifted southbound and barely missed the lower half of Florida. Unfortunately, Haiti was devastated with flooding and many people have been left without food and shelter. In light of the recent damaged caused by Hurricane Ike, we at Thirdeye felt compelled to help our neighbors in need.

When we heard that City of Miami Fire Stations were accepting donations for Haiti, we headed over to Sam’s Club and purchased some non-perishable food items for them to send over. Our donation also included soap and diapers for the Haitian children affected by the tragedy. We hope the best for our neighbors and look forward to the bits of good news as the country recovers from her recent woes.

Thirdeye has recently branded and completed a promo for the History Channel’s new 12 episode series, Sandhogs. The concept was to create a logo and environment that accentuated the constant dangers these brave miners encounter on a day-to-day basis. Thirdeye used traditional sketching techniques, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects and Cinema 4D to bring the concept to life.

Sandhogs are miners who work beneath New York, 800 feet to be exact, to bring fresh water to it’s 8.2 million residents. They’ve worked on either side of the East River in preparation for the erection of the Brooklyn Bridge, and have been instrumental in building everything from the city’s subway system to its sewers. Sandhogs have been excavating the depths of New York since 1872. The History Channel will hope to portray their lives in this upcoming series.

While the rest of the Miami audience was enjoying the sights and sounds at B-Live Miami 2008, we were busy working behind the scenes. But all work and no play makes Thirdeye a dull crew. So we made sure to play.

Highlights included seeing our graphics displayed in front of hundreds of concert-goers, great live music, delicious food, and a job well done by all. Our favorite performance of the night: Groove Armada.

Now that we’re at the post-production stage of the project, we get to hear all the great music over and over again. So if you happen to pass by our office, don’t be surprised if you see a lot of heads bobbing and toes tapping. Enjoy the (music free) slideshow above.
