Thirdeye Creates Sandhogs Logo identity for History Channel
Thirdeye has recently branded and completed a promo for the History Channel’s new 12 episode series, Sandhogs. The concept was to create a logo and environment that accentuated the constant dangers these brave miners encounter on a day-to-day basis. Thirdeye used traditional sketching techniques, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects and Cinema 4D to bring the concept to life.
Sandhogs are miners who work beneath New York, 800 feet to be exact, to bring fresh water to it’s 8.2 million residents. They’ve worked on either side of the East River in preparation for the erection of the Brooklyn Bridge, and have been instrumental in building everything from the city’s subway system to its sewers. Sandhogs have been excavating the depths of New York since 1872. The History Channel will hope to portray their lives in this upcoming series.
